Terms of service

Draft for review by your attorney before launch.

Leah Books is provided by Leah Bookkeeping ("we") to businesses ("you") that subscribe. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for the tax returns and payments you file. Subscriptions renew monthly until canceled; you can cancel anytime in Settings, Plan and billing, and you keep access until the end of the paid month. Customer payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's own terms. E-signatures are captured with consent and an audit trail; you are responsible for confirming that e-signatures are appropriate for each document you send. We may suspend accounts that are used for fraud or that remain unpaid. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington.

Leah Books payments

These terms apply if you set up a Leah Books money account to pay vendors from Leah Books. The money is held by Stripe and its bank partner, not by Leah Bookkeeping.

  • You're responsible for every payment. Each payment you send or schedule from your Leah Books account, including its amount, its date, the vendor and the vendor's bank details, is your instruction and your responsibility. Check them before you send. A payment that has been sent can't always be stopped or recovered.
  • Money you add. Money you add from your linked bank can be spent once it arrives, usually about 4 business days later. You authorize Leah Books, through Stripe, to debit your linked bank account for each amount you choose to add.
  • Bounced payments: $40 each. If money you add from your bank bounces, or a payment you send to a vendor bounces (for example, not enough money in your bank, a closed account, or wrong account numbers), we charge $40 for each bounced payment, added to your next Leah Books bill. If Leah Bookkeeping bills you directly, it's added to your next invoice from us. Leah Books shows this warning before you set up your account and each time you schedule a payment.
  • Shortfalls. If a payment or deposit comes back after the money was already spent, your Leah Books account can go below zero. You agree to repay that amount right away. We may charge your card on file, debit your linked bank account, or add it to your next bill, and we may pause Leah Books payments until it's repaid.
  • Vendor bank details. Bank details are saved under the vendor's name. If you rename a vendor, enter their bank details again before you pay them.
  • We may decline or pause payments that look like fraud, that exceed your available balance, or that Stripe or its bank partner won't process.
